Some are culinary experts and some just love food a lot.
So we put our heads and resources together to create a culinary playground where people get to learn cooking skills and techniques, explore new cuisine and food trends, or just have fun with food by eating and savoring it in a homey environment.
JOSE GAERLAN – Culinary Director
Jose or Peepoy as we love to call him is our culinary rockstar. He graduated with an International Hospitality Management degree, majoring in Culinary Arts from Enderun Colleges. But what makes him such a heavy hitter are his credentials right after culinary school – he was Commis de Cuisine (Assistant Chef) at Alain Ducasse Formation et Conseil in France, a Gold Medalist in the Dream Team Category at the Philippine Culinary Cup during the World Food Expo in 2012. He was F&B Supervisor in the Hyatt Regency Resort, Casino and Spa in Lake Tahoe and a member of the Opening Team of the VIP Kitchen of Solaire.
The Back Of the House has been a nagging dream of Booboo, our Managing Director. Growing up in a family where every trip to the mall or out of the country is a quest for good food, it’s no wonder that she cooked up this culinary space where gastronomic dreams can come true. Prior to starting this business, Booboo is also a Managing Partner for Pixeleyes Multimedia. She has also worked with Channel V Philippines, the Knowledge Channel, and as Strategy Specialist for Wishcraft Creative Affairs Team. A Green Archer through and through, she has a degree in AB Communications and an MBA from DLSU.BIM ATAYDE–ZULUETA
Bim is the Marketing Manager for Institutional Accounts of Back of the House. She has several businesses under her belt, acting as Managing Partner of Interlink Travel Agency and Managing Director of Eight Senses Flavour and Fragrance House. Her love of travel and her enhanced sensibilities and flavours and scents brought out her love of food, exploring unique food concepts and experiences in the different destinations she goes to.
MARIVIC DEL ROSARIOMarivic is the Head of Operations for Back Of The House. She has 13 years experience as an Event Planner and in Customer Service for the Airline Industry, with Korean Airlines GSA, NW ITI, and United Airlines Manila. For 6 years, she was Recruitment Marketing and Sourcing Head for NCO / EGS and ABS-CBN. Her love of a good meal has spurred her to take a Diploma Course in Fundamental Cooking Methods in ISCHAM, which she recently completed.
Cynthia is the Marketing Manager for Back Of The House. She has more than 12 years experience in the event industry, having worked with the country’s top brands and corporations including The Body Shop and Globe Telecom. She is currently a Marketing Communications Creative and Strategy Consultant. Although she has zero skill in the kitchen, this does not deter her from pursuing her love affair with food. She’s always in search for the best dining experiences and documents these as #foodporn in her Instagram account, where she has gained a following for her drool-worthy food photos.
